about

It's been two years since the official launch of COUNTER x CULTURE - an important paragraph in the Counterpoint narrative, carrying a strong premise: making a statement for our sound, and giving a worldwide perspective on the best underground talent. We are now rebooting this platform, giving it a fresh face, and a new purpose - CXC is our release series that works as a platform for up & coming artists and our collective. Next up is Munich based talent Maximilian Tapparo. Producing under the acronym MISO (Multiple Inputs - Single Output), he delivers a two-track single which draws inspiration from his life impressions. From living in London to promoting local nights in Munich, he has been gathering knowledge and experience for 8 years, which he showcases in two deep dark rollers.

Side A // MISO – Lost Frequency Lost Frequency showcases some of our favorite aspects of MISO’’s production. Able to create very vivid imaginary images for his music, he gives his own twist to current deep Drum & bass. It creeps in with ghostly synth work, which sets an overall tone for a dark roller. With sharp clear drum work, the track keeps things interesting as it progresses and dwells into what we picture to be a faint foggy industrial setting.

Side B // MISO – Inexplicable Inexplicable switches things up while keeping the overall tone of the flip side. Constructed around what seems to be MISO’s trademark synth work, it develops a very fast paced rolling rhythm. As it progresses, it builds into an arrangement of lead synths, distorted midranges and heavy beats, which makes this one of the hard notes on our catalogue. The second drop makes it a DJ’s best friend, as the half-time beat has been catching audiences of guard and enabling very interesting transitions
