Our CXC project moves up and forward as we announce the 4th output on the series. UK based talent Dyrekt delivers a minimal and heavy hitting 3-track EP featuring a collaboration with Objectiv and a remix from the highly talented Belgian duo – Glÿph. With a distinct deep and techy sound, it has been already gathering support and plays in dancefloors across the globe.

Besides producing, Dyrekt stays very active in his local scene. He gets as involved as possible with the underground movement through regular DJ sets, but mostly through his own label, which he founded in 2006 and manages ever since. With a good work flow and a highly creative and technical approach to Drum & Bass, we’re bound to see more of his work on Counterpoint, and other labels worldwide.


Side A // Dyrekt & Objectiv – Trust

Setting the tone for the whole EP, Trust opens with deep and wide atmospheric sounds, which create an immersive deep vibe. The buildup increases the pressure as the track drops into an uncompromised and yet very technical deep roller. Progression is the keyword, both through various drum variations and the half-time variation on the second drop.


Side B // Dyrekt – Absent

Absent is Dyrekt’s solo feature of the EP, and he brilliantly brings the atmosphere even deeper. With an arrangement of recondite sounds and a very wide exposing sound approach, Absent evolves into an hypnotizing stepping drum pattern which oscillates between fast and slow. The captivating bassline brings it all together, in what has been one of the most acclaimed tracks from the release.


Side C // Dyrekt – Absent (Glÿph Remix)

The release closes with a Remix of Absent by the Belgian based project – Glÿph, established by producers, sound engineers and dj's - Clearlight & Owl. We had been wanting to work with them for a while and this remix shows exactly why. They bring their trademark deep, dark, brooding drum & bass which is a never ending surprise of perfectly well-programmed percussion experiments. The result is a more uplifting take on the original, which both maintains the original vibe but also adds a more expanding midrange, and subtle edit on the over the drum sounds. The second drop is an experience in itself, and an homage to why we fell in love with Glÿph out-of the box sound.
