With 2016 well under way we start to unveil our second release of the year. As we watch the Bristol Drum & Bass scene grow as strong as ever, we draw from what seems to be an infinite pool of talent, and pair up with Kush T for our 9th release. Being exposed to a vast array of music at an early age led Pete Tate (Kush T) to live on a diet of blues, ska, jazz and alternative music. Being introduced to Drum & Bass by a good friend, led him to develop his sound over the years, and since moving to Bristol he has released tracks on Avantgarde Recordings and Terabyte Records, which caught our ear at Counterpoint. After almost a year of work, it makes us very happy to finally announce the 9th release of the label: ‘Kush T - Quiet Minds EP’.
Vitalise, a collaboration with Terabyte head-honcho Auzi, kicks off the EP with a laid back downtempo vibe; the traveling melancholic pads work with the dense and round low-end to set the tone for a trip down transcendence avenue, which is guided only by the variation between three different snare sounds. Quiet Minds, steps up the pace to take you on a rolling journey from the sensorial richness of a Oriental spice market, to the chilling sensation of the subzero depths of the metropolitan underground. Mowgli, wraps things up on a more ‘tech’ influenced note. This collaboration with Omeo and Talabun MC is a energy packed new age tech-roller, with swift and precise percussion work, deep low-end pressure, and vocal infusions that will startle your legs, and take you into profound kinesthesia.
